Our brief for this very wet driveway was to arrange adequate drainage for surface water without using the house's very old rain water drainage system, and without changing overall look of the area or the style of the surface as the property was listed and of historical interest.
The owner also wanted something that would last many years as previous attempts to fill the many holes and ruts had only yeilded very breif results.
As you can see, it was almost impossible to walk from one end of the driveway to the other without getting wet feet.
Being a very rural site there was no external drainage at all other than man made ditches, so standing water was making it's way into outbuildings during heavy rain.
